- Today, there was a stupid amount of snow. Enough to make you wish you didn't have to drive, but nowhere near enough to give you an excuse not to.
- Also, I had a stupidly early meeting. It was the quarterly Frontliners meeting, wherein the People Who Actually Work At the Checkout Desk get to come together and talk about stuff with the people who, y'know, direct things and make decisions, so that we can tell them if they're making decisions that make our lives stupidly difficult. It was boring and cold but I sat with the two guys who run the movie group and who are at least entertaining. And there were cookies. We had to have a very long discussion about whether we want to put a limit on the number of dvds that a patron can take out, which came down along very obvious lines: the branches that pull their dvds to keep behind the desk wanted limits, while the other branches did not. Kingston does not pull dvds (as our patrons are pretty awesome and don't tend to steal them - we tend to lose country cds, if anything), so we are against it. But the discussion was very long and no conclusions were reached. Blah.
- I have started my second pair of socks! They are pink. The thing about socks is, though I don't tend to wear bright colors generally as I don't like calling too much attention to myself, no one ever sees my socks. Thus, they can be any color they like. (Though they still tend towards blues and greens because, really, those are the best colors.)
- I have registered for Wiscon and made hotel reservations. So I am definitely going, hurrah! It will be an exciting adventure, involving airplanes and airport shuttles and intelligent people talking about science fiction. I am excited.
- I still have yet to adjust to my new schedule, where I have nearly every weekend completely off, but do have to work every Monday. Considering that for five years, I have only had one Saturday off a month, I think it is understandable that I look forward to all of my newly free Saturdays with a sort of bouncy glee. Saturday! Yay!
