Things:
- Dentist this morning. Blah. But, apparently, my teeth are fabulous, so that's cool.
- Also, I went to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Which was enjoyable. Although, I had forgotten why it is that I nearly always skim the first half of Dawn Treader and that is Eustace. See, I love Eustace. And for all my pretensions to genre savvy, I know that, were I to be sucked into a fantasy world, I would be right there with him. Because Eustace isn't a king or a hero - Eustace is a normal kid who can't use a sword and doesn't know how to sail and has never talked to a giant mouse in his life. He's scared and basically alone and all right, he's a little horrible, but I feel like maybe a little of his horribleness is justified. And watching people talk about how awful he is makes me uncomfortable, because I know that I would be scared and useless and probably horrible too.
I am glad that Jill was mentioned in the film at the end because a) it's nice to think that Jill and Eustace were friends before Narnia and thus that Eustace wasn't horrible all the time before he became a dragon and b) I love Jill as much if not more that Eustace. And if we don't ever get a Silver Chair movie, at least her name was mentioned.
- Yesterday, I learned that it wasn't that the lay leader hadn't gotten my email about wanting to quit being the choir leader. It was just that he hadn't replied to it. I talked with him and the pastor and they were both very nice about thing and said that they would start working on finding a replacement. Hurrah!
- So, I'm kinda thinking about going to Wiscon this year. Anybody want to come with me?
