Nov. 13th, 2010 08:59 amMy birthday is this month and thus family members have been asking for gift ideas. So I sent them to my amazon wishlists. I have two of those* - one for general stuff and one for playing dress up. I'd never actually given the dress up one to people before, so I've been going through the things on it and listing sizes, so that people who don't live in my body all the time know what size I wear. This, of course, necessitates going at looking at the items on their original webpages. Which then leads to browsing other things.
Which explains why I have spent the last several minutes on gentlemansemporium.com looking at corsets.
I've never worn a corset and have no idea whether or not that's something I could pull off without looking ridiculous. I do rather like the idea, though - I like clothing that's...not constrictive, so much, but structured, I guess. Clothing where you know all the time that you're wearing something. Does that make sense? It's one of the reasons I like properly-fitted vests so much.
Not that I'm planning on buying a corset today or anything. But looking at them is fun.
*Actually four, but two of them are for embarrassing things that other people shouldn't spend money on.
