Yesterday, due to crazy-ass flex time thing, I had the afternoon off. So I went thrift shopping. Because Halloween is right around the corner and if that isn't an excuse to go to Goodwill and buy dress-up clothes, I don't know what is.
So now I have new dress-up clothes. I have beautiful black wool pants with subtle pinstripes that look fantastic on me. And I have more ties. God, I love wearing a necktie. (Though some day I really am going to have to learn to tie something other than a four in hand.) And a few weeks ago, I bought a tuxedo-jacket-looking thing, which I haven't had a chance to properly wear yet, as it's been too warm. You put all that and my favorite vest together and I look fucking hot, boys and girls.*
My plans for Halloween are to go to Strowler's Nights in Seattle which doesn't necessitate a costume, per se, but I do feel that dressing up as the person I would like to be would be acceptable.
Also, hell, any excuse for a necktie and suit jacket, right?
*I do somewhat regret that wearing suspenders isn't really feasible with this outfit. I love wearing suspenders as much if not more than I love wearing a tie but it's a pain in the ass having to take my jacket and vest off to take the suspenders down every time I need to use the restroom. Wearing clothing designed for the opposite sex does occasionally have disadvantages.
Ah, well. It's not like anyone would be able to see the suspenders anyway. Suspenders are an affectation that is wholly for my own benefit.
