Today has been All Staff Day, which is the day when we put the whole staff of all the libraries in our system in a room to have a meeting for four hours, and then go back to the branches for another four hour meeting. Sitting in chairs for eight hours really shouldn't be exhausting but somehow it is. I don't know how that works.

Also, I always end up drinking too much tea at All Staff Day. Mostly because I am the kind of person who tends to eat or drink when I'm bored and the food at All Staff Day is never all that enticing but they do have a seemingly endless supply of hot water and tea bags.

And tonight I have a choir rehearsal. Which is good, really, because choir is envigorating, but now I'm trying to decide whether I want to eat before I go. Because I'm not hungry now but I know by the time choir is halfway over, I will be.

It is a dilemma.

I got in the habit of bringing my drop spindle with me to all day meetings: takes less brain than knitting, and I don't have to look at it, so I can be actively taking part in conversation, but stops me falling asleep.

(Either that, or I take notes by hand and doodle when I'm not writing down notes.)

But I'm definitely with you on all day meetings being exhausting.

Alas, they disallowed craft projects of all kinds several All Staff Days ago. Otherwise, I would do so much crocheting, OMG.

I will admit that I spend most of the boring parts of the day writing notes for my NaNo project.
