Tonight, I had shrimp for dinner.* That was hours ago.

I have washed my hands at least eight times since then. Thoroughly. And used minty lotion.

My hands still smell like shrimp.

It is driving me crazy.






*Things about living on the west coast that still surprise me after 10 years, #427: steamed shrimp without Old Bay. I always expect it and then it's not there and I am subtly disappointed. I realize that Old Bay is kind of a regional thing and that there are large portions of the country that manage to quite happily have steam shrimp without it. I just don't quite understand why.

Living in the area of the country that is wont to put Old Bay spice on frelling everything... I can quite happily eat my shrimp without it. I can happily eat pretty much everything without it. And if I do use it, I use very little because it just burns my tongue... ::laughter::
I love shrimp... but I don't much care for the smell on my hands, either... ::laughter:: :)

That is an understandable reason not to use Old Bay. I happen to like it a lot, though, and it is very difficult to find (in restaurants) out here.

But the world probably does not need yet another List of Foods Sara Misses From the East Coast. 8)
