Aug. 19th, 2010 04:49 pmHad a guy just now come up to the desk and ask if we had The Sword of Shannara* on audiobook. We do not.
It took everything in me not to ask him if he'd like to get Lord of the Rings instead, since it's almost exactly the same story, but better written.
He asked for a Terry Goodkind audiobook next, though, and so I gave up.
*And, okay, I liked some of the Shannara books a great deal as a kid and yeah, I still have a copy of Wishsong somewhere, but man, Sword is just awful.

Date: 2010-08-20 02:00 am (UTC)However! I can thoroughly and completely recommend the BBC radio LotR (from 1981), if you haven't already heard it. It's abridged, of course, being a radio play, but it's 13 hours long and both the cast and the adaptation are fantastic. And the music is great. It is my favorite LotR adaptation out there and we totally have it at KRL. In multiple formats, even. 8)
