A glimpse of how my brain works, in re: the second footnote on that last post:
The idea of a Frankenstein/Re-Animator crossover is ridiculous, you know. I mean, the timelines don't match at all. God only knows when Frankenstein is meant to be taking place, but Re-Animator is pretty firmly 80's.
Well...if you assume that Frankenstein actually takes place in 1931 when the film was released and use the timeline from Herbert West: Reanimator, it actually overlaps fairly nicely. It isn't perfect, but it's workable.
Yes, but they are still on wholly different continents.
Easy-peasy. Victor Frankenstein is Swiss, right? And since Universal never bothered to tell us where the hell they were setting their Frankenstein movies, we get to assume that Henry Frankenstein is also Swiss. And movieverse!Herbert studied in Switzerland before the events of the film. Therefore! This crossover is completely feasible and it is totally within the realm of possibility that Herbert West could have met Henry Frankenstein and Dr Pretorius. (It does mean that we have to leave Dan back in Massachusetts, though.)
...that's completely absurd. And totally going to be my mental-fanfic-while-shelving story this week, isn't it.
Ladies and gentlemen! My brain! ::takes a bow::
