Apr. 27th, 2010 02:52 pmDear library patron,
I am working at this desk. You can clearly see this. I have just checked two people out, so you must know that I'm able to do that at this desk, which is the desk where I am working. You, however, are standing stubbornly at the desk where no one is working and indeed no one is, except you and the self-checkout machine (which explains why I didn't realize at first that you were waiting). But you are not there to use the self-checkout machine, oh no. You are standing there, waiting for me to leave the desk that I am working at, which is the desk where I work, and come to the other desk, where I do not work, to check you out.
I honestly do not understand that behavior. Why would you do that?

But maybe we should relabel our ref desk sign to read Ask Me! On the other hand, they have no problem asking me what time the library closes.
