Today is apparently the day for people trying to check out things that obviously do not check out, as they say in big letters on the front cover "Does Not Check Out."
Seriously, we've been open half an hour and I've had two people come up to the desk with the latest issue of one of our magazines (in a plastic cover, with a big "Latest Issue Does Not Check Out" sticker) and say, "Does this check out?"
Swiftly followed by, "Well, when can I check it out?" And really, you would think that the answer to that one would be obvious, right? You can check it out when it is no longer the latest issue.
