This week's Picture Book You Should Read is Baron von Baddie and the Ice Ray Incident by George McClements.

Baron von Baddie spends most of his thinking about just one thing: plots to defeat his nemesis, Captain Kapow. However, all of them are doomed to failure and the Baron is carted off to jail, only to escape and start the whole cycle over again. Through an accident, he actually manages to hit Captain Kapow with his freeze ray and incapacitate the hero! At first, his triumph is sweet as he spends time doing those things that supervillains do when they finally win - namely, building giant robots and eating mountains of donuts. But soon the sweetness palls and he realizes that he truly misses Captain Kapow, without whom the Baron's life holds no challenges.
Why should you read this book? Because it is every enemy!slash pairing ever encapsulated in 40 pages of goofy supervillainry. Who knows - it could be this year's big yuletide fandom. 8)
