darchildreSo. A little while ago, I took the enormous bag of change I've been saving since, I think, college and turned it into actual paper money. It was a truly ridiculous amount of coinage and came to something near $200. So I told myself that I could buy at least one ridiculously silly and frivolous thing with it because it was kind of, in a way, like free money. So I bought this. And it came today.
You guys, it is a (amazingly complex) Lovecraftian board game. And it is a cooperative board game, which takes away a great deal of my dislike of boardgames, as I am the least competitive person ever. But I am totally down with working with other players to try to defeat the Elder Gods! There are Mi-Go and Elder Things and a Flying Polyp. Possibly, you can go to Yuggoth and the Plains of Leng. There is also a card with Richard Upton Pickman on it in which he is randomly shirtless. I don't know what that's about. But there is also a card with Prof Henry Armitage on it and I am ridiculously happy about that. I am incredibly stoked, you guys.
Katie and I are going to try to figure out how to play tomorrow when I get off work. (The rule book is kind of amazingly long.) And Mom has expressed an interesting in playing also. It is going to be awesome.
