darchildreHappy Lammas, everyone! The weather has finally cooled back down to normal (thank all the gods that ever were) so I am baking bread. Alas, I have to go to work today, so it's just a quick bread - no yeast this time. Still, it'll be tasty.
Also, since it is a harvest festival day, I am going to talk about my little back porch herb garden. It is growing like crazy - the heat seemed to just make my plants happier. (Hell, Dad even has a couple of tomatoes.) Last night I made mint tea for the first time with mint I had dried, rather than with the fresh leaves. It worked out marvelously well, I thought. So I'll have dried mint and basil and lemon balm for tea all winter, at this rate.
My chamomile just doesn't seem to want to grow, though. Alas. Next year, I'll have to try starting that with seedlings, rather than growing it from seed myself.
