I'm not the only one who gets irritated when people use the word "lycanthropy" when they're talking about a person who turns into an animal that isn't a wolf, right? If your person turns into a tiger or a hyena or a rat or whatever, they are not a lycanthrope. They can be a were-whatever, or a shapeshifter, or a theriomorph, if you want to be fancy. But they are not a lycanthrope. Because "lykoi" means "wolf", not "whatever the hell animal I want".
Or possibly I am the only person who gets irritated about things like that. It's like my thing about wyverns.
Still, it bothers me.
