It helps that the translator has only literally translated a handful of the character names - mostly, but not exclusively, important female characters. (I think there are maybe four dudes so far whose names were translated?) The rest of the characters, including the protagonist, have untranslated names.

The audiobook grabbed me where a previous attempt at reading the book had not, but ymmv.
