My library is taking its next step towards easing back to the number of hours we were open in the Before Times: starting mid-November, we're going to be open till 6 every weeknight instead of 5. This is great for many reasons - more availability for patrons who work (though not nearly enough yet, this is still a step in the right direction), more room to spread out staff hours so we're not all here at the same time trying to find stuff to do - but the most important thing to me personally is that I now get to go back to my previous schedule of working 9 to 6 instead of 8:30 to 5! (It would have been 9:30 to 6, but that gets messy and complicated with meetings.)

I am absurdly happy about the idea of having that half hour back in the morning. I get up between 6:15 and 6:30 every day regardless, but that extra slack time makes everything so much more pleasant.
