Eurgh, I'm so mad and it's such a dumb fucking thing to be mad about.

So, today is my sister's birthday. I sent her a package, where I'd wrapped everything in tissue and positioned things nicely and laid a card on top and decorated the mailing box so that even though it wasn't traditionally wrapped, opening it would still be a little like opening a regular birthday present. And my sister's spouse opened it and rewrapped everything.

Not maliciously or anything, I know - my mom had her presents for my sister shipped directly to their apartment and had asked my sister's spouse to wrap them. So they thought my package fell under the same directives. And I get that - I know they thought they were doing me a favor and I know it didn't look great because I'm bad at that kind of decorating, but still. I used my good stickers. They were extremely cute stickers. And my sister - for whom they were intended - didn't even get to see them.

I want recompense for my wasted stickers and have no legitimate way to demand it. It is extremely frustrating.

Oh, no! That's not cool. You had it wrapped already. The least they should have done is called and asked if you wanted them to rewrap it, rather than just assuming you wanted it done.

I think a phone call would have been appropriate to check with you - I'm guessing the spouse might be very task oriented?
