Dec. 4th, 2022 08:11 amIt's almost certainly just coincidence, but I have attended choir rehearsal unmasked twice this session and both times I've developed cold symptoms less than a week later. Obviously, I could have caught a cold anywhere - it's just weird that both colds I've had this year have come a few days after unmasked singing.
Our procedures at choir are that you either sing masked or you take a covid test and produce a negative result before rehearsal. I've been singing masked, since it requires less forethought, but it's a bit hard to sing with and I wanted to do without it for our final rehearsals and concerts. I'm now rethinking that plan.
We're also not supposed to attend rehearsal if we have symptoms of any illness, which means I'm going to miss our penultimate rehearsal tomorrow. (Well, I'll be attending over Zoom, but that's not at all the same thing.) So far, this has been a mild cold, so I'm really hoping I'm over it by dress rehearsal on Thursday and can still perform this coming weekend.
