So, I tried planting radishes earlier this spring, but this year has been very cold and grey, so none of them grew worth a damn and I didn't get to eat a single one. Fine.
I had ordered a cantaloupe plant from the Territorial Seed Company - a variety that grows smaller fruit than normal and thus works well in container gardens. It arrived and the weather is starting to get warm, so I cleared the remains of the radishes out of my container garden and planted my melon, figuring that it might not work out great but maybe I'd get one or two cantaloupes this summer.
In three days, it has been entirely eaten by snails and is now dead. I cannot get another plant because they are sold out for the season.
Fuck absolutely everything.
