Mar. 5th, 2022 10:01 amI bought radish seeds this morning and have planted some of them in my wee garden trough. It's a little early, probably, but I got excited. Anyway, I'm planting a row a week for succession planting reasons, so if I lose the first row to frost, it won't be the end of the world.
A nearly identical conversation that I had with both my parents:
Me: It's really dark and cloudy out, so I'm going to go ahead and get my radishes planted this morning, rather that waiting till the afternoon like I originally planned.
Parental unit: (in the tone of one enlightening the foolish) Oh, my phone says it's not supposed to rain today.
And like, yes, that is what the forecast says. But the computer in your phone is occasionally wrong about the weather and I am using my actual human senses to observe the world around me. I may also be wrong, but that doesn't mean that it's stupid to hedge my bets and get my outside work done early either way.
Anyway. Soon I'm (hopefully) going to have homemade radishes. I have also ordered a wee melon plant to arrive in May, so I will maybe have homemade melons this summer.
