Nov. 22nd, 2021 09:47 amAt my library, there are dudes in the parking lot using leafblowers to clear leaves and debris from the lot every Tuesday. They are very loud, and they seem to work for hours every week, no matter the condition of the parking lot. In the summer, they also do edge trimming, for extra exciting noise. I'm sure their work is necessary and that they do a good and thorough job, but it makes Tuesdays something of a misery.
This morning, I came to work, and the dudes were out with their leafblowers. On a Monday. This is unprecedented.
Every one of us, including me, has started work this morning with a long moment of "Wait, it is Monday, right? I didn't just somehow forget to go to work yesterday and it's Tuesday now - someone would have said something, wouldn't they?"
It's very disconcerting. And also loud.
