Feb. 7th, 2020 04:52 pmToday I:
- played hooky from work. Or rather, called in sick as a mental health day, but calling it "playing hooky" is more fun
- went to Seattle to wander around and bought notebooks I don't need and three varieties of Japanese kitkat, including the kind that you bake in the toaster oven, which I've never seen in person before (they are delicious)
- relistened to several of my favorite episodes of The Magnus Archives while knitting in the Central branch of the Seattle library*
- spent about 6 hours not talking to anyone except in brief customer service interactions
- did not feel anxious all day for the first time this week, so all of the decisions I made today were correct and good
*One of life's great pleasures is the quiet anonymity of sitting in a library for several hours and I can't do that anymore without leaving the county, which is something of a shame. Also, although I enjoyed my time there today immensely, good god but the Central library is just really ugly and unfriendly-looking, isn't it? Apologies to people who love that building, but it is pretty clearly designed to make you not want to stay. (I do still love the creepy red floor, but also I love it because it's terrifying and I don't think that detracts from my argument.)
