Aug. 16th, 2015 05:03 pmTwo nerdy things that combine to make a third, even nerdier thing:
1) The other day, I decided to learn to play the harmonica. I happened to have a harmonica and now I can play a couple songs very badly on it. It's a lot of fun.
2) I have spent the last hour watching Steven Universe.
And then I thought: "Wouldn't it be fun to be able to play the theme to Steven Universe on my harmonica? I bet I could do that."
You can find sheet music for the theme pretty easily (and guitar tabs), but not a harmonica tab. Which is not surprising. Unfortunately, the sheet music is in F and my harmonica is in C. (Which you can play in F, but that requires me to be able to bend, which I can't do yet.) So I copied it down, transposed the melody to C, and then figured out a harmonica tab.
Not all of it sounds quite right, but I'm pretty proud of it.
