First patron of the day had a fifty cent fine - she forgot to return her books yesterday, as she was attending the post-Superbowl parade in Seattle.

"You should waive the fines, though, because I was celebrating the Seahawks!"

Dear 12 year old girl who decided not to check out Portrait of a Killer,

Thank you for doing that, because it's difficult for me to think of a non-creepy way of approaching someone who's using self-checkout and telling them that I can find them better books about Jack the Ripper.

PS - there are better books about Jack the Ripper.
