Dear the internet,

So, I kinda want to buy myself a new saga to read and I cannot decide which one to get. Thus, I am asking the internet which one it would choose.

I have at this point narrowed it down to two options:

Eyrbyggja Saga, which apparently deals with the conversion of Iceland plus ghosts and is described by one reviewer as "the Amityville Horror of medieval literature".

Or!

The Saga of the Jomsvikings, which appears to be full of badass fearless warrior vikings doing badass fearless warrior viking things.

Both of them look nifty but I am limiting myself to buying only one right now. (The other one will probably be bought and read at some point, but not today.) So which one would you choose?

So, I am watching Vikings because of course I am, and I have just finished the second episode. Mostly, I am finding it wholly delightful.

However, I feel that I need to share a brief PSA:

Guys, if you drink from a horn the way the people in this show do, you are going to be wearing your mead*. Tip of the horn goes down and towards the drinker, not up and away.

There. Now if you ever get served a drink in a horn, you'll know what to do.

*Or whatever. I've honestly mostly drunk apple juice from horns, but that's because I don't like alcohol.
