darchildre: seventh doctor tweaking ace's nose (aces are rare)
Things:

- It is no longer 90 degree! I am so happy! I wore a sweatshirt for part of yesterday and at no time felt like I was going to fall prey to Sebacean* heat delirium! I am so ready for autumn, you guys!

- Saturday, Dad and Katie (who is visiting, did I mention that?) and I went to a Tacoma Raniers game. Which was hilarious fun. I forget how much I enjoy going to sporting events when I'm not actually at them. I don't find sports on tv all that much fun, but live sports are cool. And Cheney stadium is pretty great, in that there are pretty much no bad seats. I should go to more Raniers games. Sports that don't involve being stuck on a boat with loud inebriated people - pretty awesome.

- Yesterday, la familia drove to Mt St Helens, which was also pretty cool. We bought a ridiculous number of donuts, did some hiking, had a picnic, I ended up telling my mom Norse myths while we hiked, it was pretty great. But long. Very very long. And the thing is, I have discovered yet another thing I cannot do in the car because it makes me feel ill and that is read comics on my phone.

- Y'know what I always wonder? Why is it that reading etc makes me feel sick if I'm in a car but not if I'm on a train? As I understand it, the reason you feel ill is an inner ear thing, right, where your body is sitting still but also moving and somehow visual stimulation that doesn't deal with that causes you to feel sick? But the same thing is happening on a train and yet, I don't get trainsick when I read. It is confusing.

- So this weekend was fun but also full of people and I kinda feel like I should not have to go to work today and should, instead, stay home and read comics and knit. (The day I figure out how to read comics and knit at the same time...that will not be a productive day. Well, under certain definitions of "productive". I'll get a lot of knitting done.) Alas, work is apparently necessary.

*Note: I am not a Sebacean.
