Jun. 26th, 2012 07:24 pmToday is a day where I really wish that caffeine had a noticeable effect on me. I really think that would be helpful right now.
Alas, it does not. I can drink gallons of black tea or caffeinated soda and nothing, except for the fact that then I feel kinda soggy and sugared out. I'm not really a coffee drinker (it's not bad, I just prefer tea) but once, as an experiment, I drank three cups of coffee an hour or so before bed, just to see what would happen. What happened was that I went to sleep with the exact same amount of ease as always.
It is annoying.
It's probably genetic, as my mother also gets no effect from caffeine. And it's also probably a good thing in a way, because I drink a lot of caffeinated tea but when I can't get it, I don't get the withdrawal headaches my dad does when he can't have coffee.
It's just that, some days, it would be nice to have access to an efficacious, mild, legal stimulant.
