May. 10th, 2010 05:01 pmToday, I:
- Cleaned out my closet. I have 5 bags (!) of clothes to give to the Goodwill, including apparently every pair of jeans I have worn a hole into in the last five years and now I actually have room to hang things and put my shoes. It is terribly exciting.
- Threw away the honestly terrifying rug that was under my computer desk. The dog likes to sleep under the computer desk and the rug was nearly impossible to vacuum. I ask you to imagine it.
- Did not get any further on cleaning than that, but it's okay. This is a long-term hardcore cleaning project.
- Went to see Iron Man. Which was pretty much totally awesome. Man, I need to get back to read the issues of Tales of Suspense I have on my computer.
- Bought a mattress. Because, see, the point of the hardcore cleaning is that I am getting rid of the bed I have, which is an enormous queen sized behemoth, and replacing it with a lofted twin bed. I am so excited! I'm going to have floor space, and a chair and a lamp under the bed so that I can read or crochet, and a curtain in front of the chair so that I can create a cave, and I think I'll eventually have room for a new bookcase, and it is going to be awesome. So I found the bed I want and had the mattress that goes with it shipped to the store and when it comes in, I will pick them both up at the same time and have myself a new bed and a newly more workable bedroom. Whee!
This also means that I can purchase ridiculous sheets. See, a bed is allowed to have ridiculous sheets if the cover and pillows are respectable and all the really awesome ridiculous sheets - the ones with cartoon characters or really funky colors - are for a twin-sized bed.
