Nov. 1st, 2009 07:59 pmSo...every year, I am kinda tempted by NaNo but also terribly intimidated and so I don't do it. I'm not doing it this year either, mind. But I have signed up for this writing exchange on swap-bot which I have to finish by mid-December, so it's like NaNo, without quite so much attention to wordcount. 8)
The thing about writing is that I forget how much I like to do it. I never quite feel like the end results are worth showing people and I very rarely actually finish anything, but I find it to be an incredibly enjoyable activity. I used to write all the time. I'm not really sure why I don't anymore. (Sometimes, I am very depressed about the death of our oldest computer and the loss of the pages and pages of terrible Dracula fanfic I wrote in highschool before discovering the internet. And then I actually think about the content of the terrible Dracula fanfic and I'm kinda glad I don't have it anymore.)
So, yes. I am writing! It is fun. The thing I am writing is fairly ridiculous and will be exchanged with non-fandom people but still. Enjoyable. And hell, they actually want me to write about mad scientists, so who am I to say no, right?
Heh.
