darchildre: birch trees in autumn (yi elischi sa ai chi bedhul)
Happy Autumnal Equinox, everybody! (Well, everybody in the northern hemisphere. Happy Vernal Equinox, southerly people!) I've woken up the last few morning curled into a snug little ball under my down comforter and it's been marvelous.

Of course, it's supposed to get up to the frelling mid-80's later today, but I will take what I can get.

Alas, I fear that I am catching a cold. My throat is all scratchy and phlegmy this morning. Hopefully it will pass quickly.

Yup, definitely sick. Haven't lost my voice yet and the inevitable lightheadedness hasn't set in but I'm sure both of those things will come.

Every time I get sick, I discover just how much I really hate cough drops. I mean, they're useful things and I'm glad I have them and I'm especially glad to have those vitamin C ones that don't taste terrible but man, they're annoying. And if I keep sucking on them, I almost always find one that develops sharp edges and cuts my tongue. Yum, grapefruit and blood - my favorite.

(That happens to other people, right? I mean, it happens to me and my mom all the time. Can't eat a Tootsie Pop ever without ending up bleeding. Folks at school seemed to think it was a completely bizarre phenomenon, though.)
