Well, the thing I'm going to read after Les Mis is A Place of Greater Safety, which is actually a reread for me because I first read it ten years ago but not since then. It's very long and it's about the French Revolution, so it might be a good way to ease yourself back into non-Les Mis literature? Also it's really really good.
