Today, my boss told me that I have nice handwriting. I am pleased all out of proportion by that.

See, I was told all through my school life that my handwriting was ugly and sub-par. Handwriting was the only thing I ever got poor grades in during elementary school. I had both teachers and other students make fun of me for it. To this day, I don't like writing things by hand if anyone else is going to see them - I'm still embarrassed about it. I've gotten to the point where I'm somewhat okay with my printed hand, but I still think that my cursive looks clumsy and awkward and horrible and I type absolutely everything if I have to give it to someone else.

This is literally the first time anyone has said anything nice about my handwriting at all. I think I will put it in my mental "Best Compliments" file.

ME TOO!

I freaking had to take have tutoring sessions in freaking handwriting. By high school, Mae had developed this huge pretty bubbly handwriting. My handwriting's a lot different than hers and I miss her handwriting. But that's probably more because of the arthritis in our hands than anything else. -laughs-

But, damn, I am so glad I have the excuse of not being able to hold a pen or pencil for a long period of time. That worry about whether my handwriting is readable or not never goes away. I've been known to rewrite things 4 or 5 times until they're "readable", even on bad pain days.

Weirdly, I have gotten a run of compliments on my handwriting as well, which I find odd. My handwriting is neither printed, nor cursive, but a strange combo of the two, with interesting results.
People have more cause to see my handwriting, however, because before I go and type up whatever story stuff I've been working on, I have written it down longhand in a notebook first...and I tend to do that in a cafe. :p :)
Anyway. I think it's awesome that you were complimented on your writing! It always makes me happy, too. :D
