So, Mom and I have been watching Sherlock on PBS and have just finished the last episode. Which I had not watched when I downloaded it, due to my tv hoarding tendencies that lead me to very rarely watch the last episode of anything. Because if I don't watch the last episode, then it's not over.
I knew going in that we were doing Moriarty and thus Final Problem. However. No one told me that they were also doing Bruce Partington. (And making odd half-references to Five Orange Pips and Scandal in Bohemia, but those were odd and so don't really count.)
I love Bruce Partington, you guys. Not quite as much as Norwood Builder, which is my favorite story in the canon, but it (and Six Napoleons) comes a very close second. Mycroft! Missile defense codes instead of a submarine! Burglary! References to Sherlock being knighted! Points and a curve!
I may have shouted that last at the tv a bit. Possibly.
I am not quite sure what I think of this Moriarty but I did enjoy the tension in the last few minutes and I very much liked the emotional whatsit between Sherlock and John just before the final cliffhanger. But even if the rest of the episode had sucked, I think that I probably would have enjoyed it just because they did Bruce Partington.
So, when do we get new episodes again?
