Today's Sad Library Duty:

Informing a patron that no, I'm sorry, you did not see a copy of A Dance With Dragons at Costco the other day*. And yeah, I can put you on the hold list for it but the gods only know if you'll ever see it.

On the other hand, I did get to have a fun conversation with that patron and one other in which the first patron was informed about both Tamora Pierce and Ender's Game.**




*Unless, of course, you did, in which case a) what Costco do you shop at? and b) why did you not buy a copy of this book that is obviously either magical or from another dimension?

**Okay, Mr Card is kind of a jerkface, but Ender's Game is still good and worth reading.

I am only just now reading A Game of Thrones, but I really perked up for half a second there. I feel similarly about The Wise Man's Fear.

You know, if I found a mythical copy of Dance I would just kill things to keep it... ::laughter::
I so hate Martin right now. But I'm still going to buy the book the second it hits the shelves. Yeah.

I was on the hold list for a year. I dropped off because my hold expired a year ago. It is maddening.

I just hope he doesn't die before the series is over. (I was seriously concerned about that with Stephen King and the Dark Tower there for a while, too, but fortunately for all, that one is now finished and safe.)
