Informing a patron that no, I'm sorry, you did not see a copy of A Dance With Dragons at Costco the other day*. And yeah, I can put you on the hold list for it but the gods only know if you'll ever see it.
On the other hand, I did get to have a fun conversation with that patron and one other in which the first patron was informed about both Tamora Pierce and Ender's Game.**
*Unless, of course, you did, in which case a) what Costco do you shop at? and b) why did you not buy a copy of this book that is obviously either magical or from another dimension?
**Okay, Mr Card is kind of a jerkface, but Ender's Game is still good and worth reading.
