I've got the book and read to about the point Valjean met the priest, but never got past that. When I've got through the huge pile of books on my 'to read' list I'm going to try and read it again: but I think I need to do it when I've got a whole week off to concentrate on it.
I took the other half to see it in January when it toured - he'd been resisting for years and years - and I was glad to say he loved it. Although he keeps getting 'Lovely Ladies' in my head every since seeing it.
